The New Carbon Compound in Space
A team of international scientists have used the James Webb Space Telescope to detect a new carbon compound in space for the first time. The Substance Methol Catine, or CH3+, was traced back to a young star system, which is catchily called D 203 506 1350 light years away from Earth. David Whitehouse explains why it's so important and how we can use our telescopes to find them.
