The Carolingian House and the Carolingians

The carolingian dynasty had ruled for roughly centuries, from seven 51 to nine 87. Hugh cape was the most powerful man in the west and a defender of the catholic church. With hughes rise, west francia died and france was born. Despite what later historians claimed, the carolingian house did not fail because their rulers became corrupt, incompetent or weak. They failed due to a lack of suitable airs and the historical trend towards regionalization.
