Alabama for from 1970 to 1992 didn't have any majority minority districts. It's only because of litigation brought under the Voting Rights Act that Alabama agreed to add the existing majority minority district they have. Melissa, you had a great thread on Twitter about how the Democratic appointed justices willingness to fight and take it to Alabama mattered - even if it might not matter to the outcome in the case.
