The Rise of Satisfaction as a Form of Political Behavior
The next big book project I'm doing on my own is trying to study the global rise of satire as sort of a form of political behavior. So, we're not talking about somebody like Al Franken who was a comedian but then runs a straight campaign. We're talking about these hybrid campaigns like what we saw with Vladimir Zelensky or young Gennar in Iceland. There's also a long history of candidates running to just sort of mock the system because by running they can reveal stupid stuff about the system. so that's always been true but there's this strange hybrid type of candidate.
