Is the Specular Pathway Really the Privilege Route of Libido?
There are a lot more things going on in the first year and a half, two years of life than latte's exposition makes out. So again, i think we're a little bit hypnotized by the mirror phase theory to argue that all the libido goes through the specular pathway. The real critique here comes from the american analists of the forties, fifties and sixties who pointed out that if we can see these processes clinically, it doesn't mean that we should be talking about the libido as a kind of finite substance that's being pushed around like putty.
