10,000 steps a day is the magic number of steps that you should reach every day in order to be healthy and lose weight. This number came from a Japanese pedometer company to sell pedometers. You really only need about 2,700 to 3,900 steps per day to get the benefit of walking. There are multiple ways to break up and get your steps in.
