Napoleon's Battle of San Stefano

Napoleon and his men stayed up all night moving a gigantic siege mortar into position. He believed he could have the landing beach open in minutes. The sardinians on la madalena watched as the french began the laborious process of moving the cannon to the ship by hand, and saw an opportunity. They landed their own force on san stefano, aiming to kill or capture napoleon and hismen and seize the cannons.
