Is There a Moral Obligation?

We didn't get to the point where we could harvest on an industrial scale until after world war too. And so it's only been 50 years, say, maybe a bit more, 60 years, maybe since 19 60, that we woke up to the fact that some of our actions had now become powerful enough to be considered on a global scale. I don't think we've done such a bad job of waking up since then and starting to understand that, you know, maybe we have a larger scale moral obligation than we realized before. It's another place where a little bit of sympathy might be in order, you know.
