Jim Baker's father Raulay was machinist at a piston ring plant and Jim later wrote that his dad quote made a decent living but I thought we lived in poverty. When Jim was 15 they moved into an actual mansion with a grand piano in the living room because it was just really fucking easy to make a life for yourself in 1955 if you were a white guy. All of the evidence suggests that his family were were full beneficiaries of the post-war U.S. economy in which a family of four could wind up owning a house by accident. So yeah interesting yeah we're seeing some things come together yeah yeah planting the seeds.
