The Immortality of Sheol

In much of the Old Testament, you do not find an optimistic perspective on what happens to people when they die. The destiny of the departed is a place referred to in the Hebrew Scriptures as Sheol. There isn't any discrimination between good and evil in the concept of Sheol; it's just the nether realm of the departed spirits.
