The History of the Whiskey Rebellion
The key rebellion is that in order to try to develop more revenue Alexander Hamilton's treasury passes this tax on whiskey. This very quickly leads to all of these kind of frontier uprisings against the taxation, which was clearly a move by the treasury to pull these frontiers people into the broader national economy. And so you had a lot of these small rebellions begin to rise up.
