Vaccine Development in Subsiherian Africa
There is no question that profit motivation in this has determined a lot of vaccine supply. If you look at the bilateral deals that were struck by some subsiherian african countries to purchase vaccines directly, they'veeen charged a higher price than countries in the global north. I suspect that the solution to this global south problem is probably going to come from the global south. There are two really excellent vaccine candidates, one in india, one in tyland, developed in those countries and can be produced much more cheaply.
