Don't Pay Commission in a Sales Environment

In sales environments, it no longer makes sense to compensate members of this team on a piece rate based upon the assumption that we want them all to work as fast as possible. We don't. We're trying to maximize throughput for the, for the team as a whole. When we strip away all the responsibilities from salespeople apart from selling conversations, they become, it becomes a team sport. The same thing would apply in a software development environment.
