The Nicaraguan Revolutionary Democratic Alliance Is Not a Lot of Guys

In 1981 members of the Nicaragua Revolutionary Democratic Alliance were meeting with CIA officers to plot the overthrow of their new government one of these officers sent a cable to CIA headquarters to explain that the nation's new allies had opted to quote engage in drugs smuggling to the United States. In order to finance its anti-Sandinista operations an initial trial run had taken place in July of that year with cocaine being flown from to Miami from Nicaragua via plane now this cable is framed as a warning so they're saying hey by the way you should know Nicaraguan revolutionaries are smuggling cocaine in the United States and we have evidence that this plane got sent there right it's basically allegations of a wrongdoing within the intelligence establishment of
