Harmony in China
In the west, i think notions of liberty and freedom are the primary values right in exactly the same way as they get abused by political leaders. It's because it's not that the chinese don't value liberty and freedom. It's not lak this alien to them, but actually, harmony, asi is is something which is valued, arguably even higher. And there can be a conflict between the two. There is a very real concern, i particularly in a nation as huge as china, that if you unleash too much liberty and freedom and so forth, it might destroy the harmony of the whole.
