The Theory of Positive Emotions
Theory about negative emotions is e kind of the fighter flight theory. When we perceive a threat, our cognition narrows to just noticing that car coming at us in the street. So anger brings people to want o fight. Fear brings them to want to flee, or to hide,. The rollof positive emotions was left outside of psychological research for a long time because they didn't really seem to serve a purpose other than as a break from the the fighter flight kind of mechanism.
