Researchers found that purchases of painkillers and indigestion treatments recorded on store loyalty cards from Tesco and Boots were higher among women who were subsequently diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Dr James Flanagan from Imperial College London led the study. So how useful could this be for detecting cases of ovarian cancer much earlier than is currently the case? Professor Hannah Fry was last on the program discussing her own cancer diagnosis and the risks arising from cancer treatments. She's doing well.
