The first day that i went to write with bonjove, i rented a little car in manhattan and i drove out to new jerse this very forbidding neighborhood. And behind the house was this enormous expanse of marshes. In the distance you could see an oil refinery,. kind of like it was emerald city in the distance. It must have been the most toxic place in the world to live.
