The Importance of Social Aspects in Task Planning

For autistic individuals, often the difficulty with task planning comes from that hyper-detail focus and relatively more difficulty kind of zooming out. For a neurotypical person, they might have a task that in their mind has, you know, four elements,. That's very manageable. But for an autistic individual, that very same task might have 20 elements to it. It's so much easier to organize 20 elements than it is to organize four elements. And when I think about school-aged children and particularly high school students, often autistic high school students find it so difficult for this reason to find their map through assignment tasks or study tasks because it just feels like we're being asked to do all
