What Is Philosophy?

I was interested to see that there are at least a couple of people whom you cover who aren't traditionally regarded as essentially philosophers. I guess there's a philosophical question even underpinning the selection, which is, what is philosophy? You have to deter man who counts us a philosopher and who doesn't. And i deliberately book ended this book with socrates and peter singer, not just because it's two ssas, but because i thnk they're both doing very much the same sort of thing - asking provocative questions,. opening up dialogue about topics we often don't want to discuss....
