I'm not an isolationist in any sense. You get immense pleasure and satisfaction from other people. One has to think about what is the best way to deal with other people. I don't think there is such a thing as a collective consciousness. We all have individual consciousness, happiness is something that is you,.You bear the responsibility for and you get to experience for yourself.
