The Enjoy the Silence video was directed by a photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbin, voted rock star myth maker. The Joshua Tree cover for me is one of those sublimely overdramatic moments where U2 truly become U2. It's not just that Depesh Mode became Rose Bowl-sized stadium rockers in this era, in the late 80s and early 90s. To them, the holiday was fun-packed, the contract still intact.
