Physicists for centuries have assumed that space time or space and time more recently, space time is fundamental. But when you put quantum field theory and general relativity together, space time ceases to have any operational meaning at the Planck scale. That leads many physicists like Neema Arkani-Hamed and David Gross and Nathan Seiberg to say, 'Space time is doomed' And so they're going out in just in the last 10 years, they found structures like the amplitude, hedon and decorated permutations and so forth. So it's, you know, it's not a problem.
