What's Easier to Say Less Than 50 People?

According to the government of the United Kingdom, a small business has an annual turnover of less than 50 million euros and employs fewer than 250 people. And so people out there just say less people, which is grammatically incorrect. So it's much easier to say less people. We should be putting a lot of effort into our description of individual parts of things.
