Inevitably, it is a powerful mechanism and must be tempered with an appropriate means of governing when these upgrades should happen. So one very simple governance mechanism is give Gav the key, right? And Gav will decide where Polkadot should be upgraded. There's no way of ever having a single network that makes progress in a good direction while keeping everybody under the same roof,. Some people will never agree. When it comes to a crunch point, either you don't make progress or one half falls off. They can fork off as a four-wire game.
