Methacilin Resistance in Hedgehogs

A new study says that hedgehogs are the origin of resist ace to methacilin and antibionic derived from penecilin. Methesilin and penicilon belong to the so called beta lactam family of antibiotics. They kill bacteria by inhibiting enzymes the bugs used to build their protective cell. This is scientific american's 60 second science.
