Stephen Wolfram: A Crackpot's Perspective on the Universe
Stephen Wolfram discovered in his 20s that we need to provide the entire code based of mathematics in a computable form. He didn't do this as an open-source approach or something that would integrate a large part of academia, because he realized that academia was not willing to listen to him. I think it's very sad that Wolfram has never been able to interface with the community of physicists. Most of the physicists that criticize him for being a crackpot understand far less physics than he does.
