The Worked Example Effect Is the Epitome of Highly Guided Instruction
A worked example constitutes the epitome of strongly guided instruction you're showing how to do something and then this person is you know gonna follow that. The worked example effect which is based on cognitive load theory occurs when learners required to solve problems perform worse on subsequent test problems than those who study equivalent worked examples. Process worksheets are also something that's mentioned basically these are cheat sheets that tell you what you need to do in a problem solving situation. This week we look at medical problem based learning so there are a few other examples also given in the section but I just want to jump into this one it is the longest I have an episode on it in the past here.
