How to Avoid Defensiveness in a Conversation

When we are having difficult conversations, it's not just about making sure we're communicating effectively and persuasively. It's also about navigating the conversation in a way where we're mindful of avoiding unnecessary resistance to the conversation. You can have two different approaches, right? You can have the more aggressive approach, where you're very direct, and you might be correct,. But we also have to remember this is a difference between being right and being persuasive. And pproaching the conversation ina way that lowers the fensive is defensiveness is a much more persuasive way to do it.
