The Importance of Food in the Building of Relationships
Pienhas: The relationship between God and his people is framed by food. In the days when most people did produce their own foods, everyone farmed much of their daily life was wrapped around food production or processing to make food for future. Most of the meals that you consume included really your family and nobody else. If you invited guests, that was like a special thing. And so eating within in the temple of God with your people would make them relate to any sense they could.
