i'm always curious when i read about these types of things, like, you know, here's how we got there culturally. I think as humans, it's really difficult for us to separate good things happening to us from the idea of god's favor in our life. And they use a lot of scripture that i consider to be really poorly interpreted,. stuff like the parable of the talents in in the gospels. But again, there is no real scriptural connection between those two ideas. Who doesn't want their cancer diagnosis or chronic illness healed through modern medicine? Why can't me believing and giving my church believe this too?
