This is an election that's being described as the most important in Brazil since the end of the military dictatorship in the 1980s. Democracy itself is at risk here in Brazil. The mood is apprehensive. It's a very polarized environment. Neither side want to believe that their candidate can lose. There has been more electoral violence than his customary this year. Lots of people will go and vote on Sunday without wearing anything that might identify them as supporters of Lula because they're that scared.
