In 19th century Victorian stories, there's always a character who has brandy for like medicinal purposes. Alcohol apparently lowers the body temperature so it may make you feel like you're hot, but you're actually not getting warm. I used to give brandy to people with hypothermia who'd been in snowy conditions and they reckon now it might have killed a few people. What you want is warmth and to maybe sip some warm water, not drink brandy because it'd be quite a shock to the system. So that was about a third too long. Well, yeah, but you always say that in situations.
