We treat each other as if we're capable of bringing new forms into the world in some permanent manner. There's something that people find very, i would say, constraining, slave like about that. It's an insult to some one to suggest to them that they're not responsible for their choices. People tend to get very annoyed at you if you treat them like their automatons that lack will.
