The Rise and Fall of the New Atheists
In many ways, the new atheists gained steam after 9-11 when radical Islamic terrorists crashed two planes into the Twin Towers and another plane into the Pentagon. The public narrative changed at that point to a religion is not only false, but it's evil as well. There was this popular meme, wasn't there? This flies people to the moon, religion flies people into buildings. These were the memes that were coming out of that kind of new atheist strain of thinking.
