There're two different habitual traps, and im moing to go into bit of the science. So if you have a habit of feeling guilty, your body literally grows a tolerance to feelings of guilt because that is a belief you have about yourself. Any experiences that might make you feel at fault, you're going to feel experiences of guilt, like chemical gushes of guilt. And so in other words, you're feeling guilty all the time. You're expressing that gilt to other people, but that's just your normal state of being. Did any of the sound familiar? Ther're tones of different habit addictions. Most of the time you don't even notice yourself falling into them.
