The Role of DNA in the Treatment of Viruses
There are different modalities, I would say, in the context of the brain. In this case, since the cells does not divide, you can just put a piece of DNA inside the nucleus and it will stay there for the entire lifespan of the cell. Depending on what tissue you target, you may want to integrate or you may prefer the option to keep the DNA as a small chromosome that will just reside for a long time inside the cell nucleus. And the adenot associated vectors, which are now very much used for brain or eye or ear applications, they basically do not mostly integrate in the host genome. But this chromosome is active, and it will do what is meant to do
