David Lynch is the perfect embodiment of what froid's talking about and he lived his aesthetic career in absolute tension with the people in charge of the money right like just the absolute. The one time i mean dune was the time he got the most money in his career not adjusted for inflation which is fascinating since dune was 1984 uh and then it then never got that money again but all was problems like twin peaks he's forced to end it there's solved laura palmer's murder when he didn't want to  and so the film is so formally fascinating I mean it's much even more than the content is incredible too but the form of it is so great because that's what
