Book Review: What Dactid

What Dactid is a 90,000 word upmarket fiction written in a third person limited POV centering on Haggot, an Orthodox Jewish seamstress. This novel has the authentic religious angst of Amy Gottlieb's The Beautiful Possible and Naomi Alderman's disobedience, but with a happy queer ending. There are almost no stories of queer women who engage in authentic religious exploration and get to remain religious and have happy queer endings. If Haim Paddak was a queer, fat woman in 2022, this is the novel he might have written.
