The Evolution of Consciousness
In your book, you take this evolutionary perspective, which both Antonio Damasio and Daniel Dennett did in their most recent books. I'm not exactly clear on the key way in which you diverge from Dennett, and that's probably more of a reflection on his ideas than yours. Maybe 90% would be the same in terms of what consciousness is, but his point is to, he had a book called Consciousness Explained, and a lot of people say that consciousness explained away. So he's kind of trying to get rid of the subjective experience. That's why I've adopted this higher order theory of consciousness - about how subjective experiences themselves come about.
