Architects tend to design for silence, says Nick vander colk. But some architects are interested in the acoustic aspects of architectural space. Old mayan temples were built with devices that amplify sound from ritualistic music and other sounds. Vandercolk: It would be intersting to think about how a city block where building is going to be could reflect those sounds back at you.
