Scaling a Blotchin - Data Withholding Attack
Data availability is fundamental to being able to scale a blotchin. If every one has to re do everyone else's transactions, then you can only add more transactions by increasing the node size. In typical blotchin systems, they solve this data availability problem in an implicit way and require every full node to down load the full block. But what we need is a way for nodes to know that the data behind a given block was published and available without down loading all the data. Cause it doesn't matter if i'm here checking my bank account or I'm on celestia - there will always be people who want to cheat me out of money.
