Should We Stop Being Outwardly Homophobic at Work?

A friend of ours Nina who works in my office says that going as far as participating in homophobic talk is a form of self-hate. She also thinks that us lying should weigh on us morally since we are gay and are constantly trying to live a better life. Betty and I both think that if we always stay away from these topics or divert the talk it will allow suspicion in our lives. If we present a united homophobic best friend stance we can slide by no questions asked.
