The History of Sin
When Arabs learned it, they thought, okay, let us choose a word that is similar to jaya. And they ended up using a word jib, or jib. Jib means pocket, which is an Arabic word. The literal translation of pocket in Latin is sinus. Then they decided that letters abbreviated and it became sin, but you don't call it sin. So, we write it sin, but we pronounce it sin.
