The Importance of Emotions in Speeches
We are programmed to have emotion affect the rest of our brain. If someone's giving a speech and they're using emotion, it's more likely to attract attention. The other interesting thing about emotion is that it's very easy to transfer emotion from one person to the other. We don't even notice it, but if many people around us are smiling, there's a highly light view that we'll smile to. It was kind of eye opening for me and shocking really to see how primed our brains are to share emotions with one another.
