The Origins of Figures in Orkney
There are hints of figurative art in Neolithic Orkney too. We have a whale bone figurine from Scarabrae and the Links of Northland. The designs, both the curvilinear eyebrow motifs, but also the spirals and the kind of lozenges you find on those drums is very similar to the type of motifs we find in Orkney.
