Does the Amount of Metal Matter?

Wax is a less powerful Mistborn than anyone from era one, even non major characters. Wayne's growth as a character from the beginning was maybe pushed too far. He used that wealth in ridiculous but also probably very beneficial ways. His wealth allowed him to become the most experienced slider.
