What's the Difference Between Matthew and Luke?

The way Jesus is depicted in the four gospels illustrates the point too. Only two of them even bother to have birth narratives. And they tell them very differently in ways that they're not utterly incompatible, but they have two very different approaches. Matthew's gospel, the birth narrative, that's where you get the wise men, not three wise men and we don't know their names either.
