Airbnb Hosts: What Happened?

I don't understand why you would be buying all of this stuff with a gift cards. obviously there's some sort of scam involved. I at least feel okay like it makes me feel a little better that it was the home owner that was here in this situation and showed up. If the cleaner had multiple cleans that day and then had to show up and make this part of their job I would feel so bad for them.
