The History of the Burkina Faso Film Festival

Sankara seizes on film as a way of kind of creating a notion of Pan-Africanism. At the time Burkina Faso was one of the poorest countries in the world. Most of the aspects of the festival, even in its wider geographical spread, are to do with that. It gives prizes for films from the African diaspora.
